Supported Housing

Our supported housing facility in Watford is designed to help residents approaching the end of their stay at Charter Hostel to live more independently.

The shared house is available to service users over 18. Moving from the catered hostel environment to the relative autonomy of living in a shared house offers a host of practical and emotional benefits to residents seeking to take their first steps back into society.

How does living in supported housing help residents move forward?

As well as addressing the practical problems raised by homelessness, time in a shared house helps residents to rebuild on other levels. They can gain confidence in managing day to day tasks, and this confidence will help to rebuild self-esteem and self-worth. The shared house offers a safe supported environment for residents to grow and develop without overwhelming them. For many residents, it is a vital part of the puzzle of rejoining their community.
